New project for Vision in the Sultanate of Oman
Earlier this month Vision has been awarded a contract by Worley Parson Oman for an Aerial Survey project in the Musandam area of the Sultanate of Oman. Together with Vision's Omani partner International Geomatics Services LLC, a high accurate Digital Terrain Model will be created to support Worley Parsons in the design of a new overhead line in this hilly terrain. Worley Parsons is responsible for designing a new overhead line in Musandam for Rural Areas Electricity Company (RAECO). Vision's Aerial Survey capabilities for this survey are a fast and cost effective choice, as the route crosses some extremely difficult terrain in terms of access as it crosses the central mountain range in Musandam.

New strategic LiDAR project for Vision Middle East
The Arriyadh Development Authority (ADA) has awarded a contract to Vision ME for the collection of Airborne LiDAR, covering Wadi Hanifah and Wadi Alsully. Vision ME is pleased to execute this project, which is one of the largest airborne LiDAR projects undertaken in the Middle East region. The project area covers almost 6,000 square kilometres and the LiDAR data will be utilised to generate an accurate Digital Terrain Model (DTM). The DTM dataset will support ADA activities including, flood-modeling, urban planning, environmental study as well as updating and expanding the GIS database. The project will be executed and delivered within a twelve month program.

Vision moves on with LiDAR project in Jeddah
Vision ME has, in close cooperation with JDURC (Jeddah Development & Urban Regeneration Company), moved on in the next phase of providing an important geospatial dataset of Jeddah province. An area of 6,400 square kilometres has been captured with high resolution Aerial Photography and LiDAR. The next stage of the project will be the generation and delivery of accurate Digital Terrain Model's, digital orthophoto imagery and topographic mapping. Vision is currently processing the data under close military supervision within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In cooperation with the client, additional Vision team members moved to Riyadh to support the processing phase and work to an accelerated programme.

Vision delivers final project to SLRB
One of the Vision Partenavia aircraft has executed an Aerial Survey project in the Kingdom of Bahrain. A Vexcel UCX digital camera was used to acquire high-overlap, vertical photography at 5 cm and 10 cm resolutions. The imagery will primarily be used for large scale topographic mapping within the Bahrain Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB). The original project has been extended by capturing Pictometry oblique imagery in multiple areas around the Kingdom. The oblique imagery will support visual intelligence for several governmental clients in Bahrain and supported the creation of a 3D model.

Abu Dhabi landmark photography
Vision has completed a project to collect geo-referenced terrestrial photography in Abu Dhabi. After receiving the photographic permits, Vision employees captured the landmarks including images, coordinates and direction using specialist cameras. The project is an extension of the existing project with AIS and NCEMA in Abu Dhabi. The landmark photography will support the creation of a high detailed 3D model of the city.

Urban Planning Council extends relationship with Vision
The Urban Planning Council of Abu Dhabi (UPC) has extended its relationship with Vision. Over the past 12 months, UPC has been using Pictometry imagery natively in their ArcGIS environment. The availability of the Pictometry imagery of Abu Dhabi supports the UPC mandate to plan and develop Abu Dhabi's urban environment.

Vision completes first LiDAR project for overhead lines in the UAE
Vision and ABC Surveys have completed the first LiDAR project for overhead lines in the UAE. The project consisted of the topographic survey of a 72 kilometre route between the towns of Fujeirah, Dibba and Taween on the East coast of the United Arab Emirates. The client Inabensa Engineering are designing a new 132 KV overhead line for Transco who are responsible for developing, operating and maintaining the high voltage power transmission networks within the UAE. A choice was made to make use of LiDAR for this survey as the route crosses some extremely difficult terrain in terms of access as it crosses the central mountain range in the UAE

New pilot joins Vision
Vision welcomes Michael Fabry as new member of the team. Michael is an FAA Airline transport pilot, a certified flight instructor with an Aircraft A&P engineer license with an airline background and Several Type ratings like Boeing 737, Saab 340 and Dornier 228. He will bring close to 20 years of experience in the aviation industry to Vision. In view of all the new upcoming projects Vision is happy to be able to expand the team.

Bahrain contract award
The Bahrain Survey and Land Registration Bureau has awarded a contract to Vision for the acquisition of Aerial photography covering the Northern part of Bahrain. The primary Project Objective is to acquire and supply vertical aerial photography to the Photogrammetric Section of the Topographic Survey Directorate, Survey & Land Registration Bureau, Bahrain. The imagery will primarily be used for large scale topographic mapping. In addition a trial area will be surveyed using the Pictometry Oblique Imaging system.

Vision wins Jeddah LiDAR project
Vision has been given a contract to collect LiDAR information and digital imagery for an area covering close to 5000 km2 in and around the city of Jeddah and the adjacent mountain regions. The project has been commissioned by the Jeddah Development and Urban Regeneration Company (JDURC). Vision will create a highly accurate Digital Terrain Model for flood risk analysis as well as high resolution imagery. The project will take nine months to complete and will start as soon as flight permissions are granted.

Vision in the process to be ISO certified
Vision has implemented the company's in-house developed Total Quality Management System. Vision signs new agreement with Pictometry for the Middle East
Vision and Pictometry extend and expand the license agreement for the Middle East region. Vision now has the exclusive sales rights of the unique Pictometry technology for the whole of the Middle East region. Signing this new agreement is an expression of mutual trust between the two involved parties. "The extension of the scope of this business agreement demonstrates our continued confidence in the value of what Pictometry technology can provide to our customers in the Middle East region," said David Critchley, CEO of Vision Middle East.

Vision completes data acquisition for GCC\'s largest 3D city model
Vision has completed the capture of LiDAR data, Pictometry oblique Imagery and Vexcel Imagery. The project, whilst carried out in the height of summer and in the middle of Ramadan, was completed in good time and within specification. The resultant data sets will be used to create a high resolution and accurate 3D model of the city. This 3D model is the largest ever made in the Middle East.
